Step 14: Researchers Use CO2 Emissions to Make Fuel

Carbon Sciences, Inc., has made significant progress toward making high value products from carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, CNNMoney.com as their green steps.

Researchers at Carbon Sciences, based in California, are using chemical engineering and bio-engineering principles to develop a biocatalytic process that can transform CO2 emissions into fuels like gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel.

This sort of breakthrough technology would allow us to meet our energy needs and the challenges of climate change without significantly changing our current infrastructure.

“Albert Einstein once said, ‘In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.’ Carbon Sciences is embarking upon perhaps the greatest opportunity — fundamentally contributing to a sustainable world of energy consumption with a new, renewable energy, CO2 to fuel,” says Byron Elton, the President and COO of Carbon Sciences, at CNNMoney.com. “This year, we expect to see new policies that reflect a world ready to invest in, and embrace renewable energy. These are exciting times and we are committed to playing an historic role toward a world of sustainable fuel consumption and climate stability.”
