Step 98: How to Make Your Kids Do Green Steps

Enough nagging your kids to do something like ‘eat their veggies’ or ‘finish your meal’ already. Instead, make them look forward to do green steps. Wonder how to do that?

Show them that you are also doing what they are supposed to do. Kids are smart, in which they will look at you as their role model and need you to recycle, buy green things, and protect earth first before they do.

Join them as your family do green steps together. They might be young, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t have brilliant ideas to go green. Listen to what they have to say and maybe you should go outdoors to increase their connection to the environment and improves the chances they’ll want to protect it.

At last, it’s all only about how to make green steps as a fun thing instead of a burdening task. Make it synonymous to eating cookies, biking, and summer holidays, then you’re done!

Step 95: Green Steps through FREE Gifts

No, 1000 Green Steps here was not talking about THOSE free gifts you could have won on that department store nearby. 1000 Green Steps was talking about finding a gift for your loved ones which could save you more money and save our planet earth, too.

Show Us What You Have!

Now, refresh your memory and check again if there is anything you have that you don’t need anymore. We can RECYCLE it together, right? Check 1000 green Steps suggestion on recycling a T-shirt.

Be Good!

In case you are not that type of artistic guy, and if you really have given up the idea of trying to remake something that is actually better, try to DONATE YOUR STUFF so that other people could REUSE it.

Step 83: Why do Green Steps? (For Teenagers)

Generation Green
Generation Green

Maybe you are wondering what reasons are 1000 Green Steps throwing at you now, but 1000 Green Steps will always have the list for you to read along and here they are:

1. Beat your parents

No, seriously in this area parents are soooo left behind. They have always been nagging you to do all the things they want, then if now you’re ding green steps maybe you can start nagging them to change!

2. Be ‘cool’

Well isn’t that obvious that being green is to ‘cool’ up the ‘warm’ global temperature? Well beside that, everything in Hollywood is going green. Actors and movies or even songs! This is the new trend, really.

3. ‘Make use’ of it

You can use environmental volunteering towards getting scholarships or being accepted for special programs and opportunities moving towards college or university. Your school will be impressed if they know that you’re contributing to the school or your community in a meaningful way and will give you great reference letters. “I spent the evening volunteering for an environmental group” sounds a lot better than “My dog ate my homework”.

Green Idol: Alanis Morissette
Green Idol: Alanis Morissette

Just like other idols who have taken green steps in their life, Alanis Morissette also has started her own green steps since 2003. Back then she was narrating the program presenting growing evidence of climate change called Global Warming: The Signs and the Science. The following year she signed up for another film, The Great Warming, which she narrated with Keanu Reeves.

In 2003, this solar powered house owner was awarded The EMA Missions in Music Award for acts such as speaking out against drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and encouraging fans to learn about and become more involved in political issues.

As well as urging fans to educate themselves on the Bush administration’s Energy Plan, Morissette posts information on her website about her own aid donations through CHF International and invites fans to contribute.
