Step 138: Green Steps in Simpler Cleaner
Since you guys already know how dangerous soap and other chemical cleaner could be, 1000 Green Steps of course are going to suggest you some natural cleaner that is simpler than they ever were.
Easy all-purpose cleaner: Mix one teaspoon liquid soap or borax per quart of warm water. Try a splash of lemon juice or white vinegar to help cut kitchen grease.
Spray starch: Dissolve one tablespoon cornstarch into a pint of water for an equal spray starch substitute. Pour it into a spray bottle and use on your laundry as needed.
Oven cleaner alternative: Combine two tablespoons liquid soap and two teaspoons borax in a spray bottle and top them off with warm water. Spray the mixture directly onto caked oven gunk and let it soak for about 20 minutes. Scour the oven bottom with steel wool, and the caked on food should come right off.
