- Green Birthday Party
Gifts
1000 Green Steps think that it’s nice to apply gift exchange in a birthday party. That is even better if every child brings a ‘green’ friend of them (plants, soil, or even animals!) and in the end they will go home with their own new ‘green’ friend.
Garnish
For the party supplies, try IKEA dinnerwares which are recycled plastics. If your child demands characters decorations such as Spiderman or Princesses, try drawing (or tracing) favourite characters or items on kraft paper to make a tablecloth. Even better, let the kids do it at the party. As for balloons, it might be easiest to go cold turkey. That may sound outrageous, but there are plenty of reasons. Fancy mylar balloons are not biodegradable. Even normal latex balloons, which do eventually break down, can cause problems.
Goodies
While kids are thrilled to rip open these sacks of treasure, the pleasure is usually short-lived. There is a reason that these items were inexpensive – they are poorly made, mass-produced, and definitely not sustainable. Use a small cloth bag or a recycled cardboard instead, or if you are on a budget, you can go back to number 1 where goodies bags are no longer needed to be provided by the host.
Happy Green Living (or Partying)!

- Ecotourism
Have you ever heard the term ‘ecotourism’? In case you’re not used to that term, the definition of ecotourism according to Wikipedia is travel to fragile, pristine, and usually protected areas that strives to be low impact and (often) small scale.
1000 Green Steps will recommend this to you because it has some positive benefits compared to ordinary travel journey.
Firstly, this kind of travel will allow tourists to enjoy and discover our nature and those travel agencies were still able to gain profit for that, but it will not let our environment left unprotected.
Another benefit of ecotourism is that this kind of travel will educate tourists about nature in its own unique, unexplainable, and active way. That will awake city people that everything is not always the same as what it says in the picture.
1000 Green Steps say: Make them feel it, and they will never forget it.
Happy Green Living!

Use Recycled Paper
You have no idea on how much that will help Mother Earth. This will even cost you lower than those plain papers. 1000 Green Steps already use it at home for years and 1000 Green Steps don’t regret it. Don’t forget to take note on BOTH sides of the paper, too.
Use Bike or Walk instead of Car
If you don’t live in a developing country, I’m sure your school has a comfortable pedestrian access. However if you don’t have, try to save up your fuel money by riding a bike. This will save up your money a lot and most importantly your environment.
Don’t use a Plastic Bag!
Who doesn’t know I’m not a Plastic Bag tote bag? Everyone has got to use it. Remind yourself, your family, or even your neighbor to use a tote bag instead of plastic bags which are mostly only going to be used once. You can get in style AND save your earth at the same time.
Very easy. 1000 Green Steps have been doing that for years until now, and now it’s your turn to influence the people around you to give some love for Mother Earth.
Happy Green Living!

Jewelry is a matter of personal taste, to each his or her own. There are many eco-friendly jewelry designs from vintage, repurposed, recycled; why not do green steps and look good at the same time! We would end up filling many less landfills while styling a knockout piece of jewelry. Some green steps are absolutely gorgeous. Make a statement that you are good to the planet as you accessorize. Here is one example of jewelry fashions for your green steps in an irresistible blend of function and style, some recycled wonders and some will make you wonder what they were thinking. This stunning Berry Coil bracelet is fashioned from Columbian red choclo seeds that are strung on an interior coil made of recycled Columbian pesos.
Happy Green Living!
This is it! 100 Green Steps have found a solution of the neediness toward battery. We all know that battery is not eco friendly and it is so harmful to the environment. However we cannot deny that we need it more than anything else to use gadgets. Now you can do more green steps by The Wind Up Universal Remote Control which can replace all of your existing remote controls, powered purely by the hands!
Just 30 rotations of the wind up device will power the remote control for 7 days. You can easily charge up your remote whilst watching your favorite TV. If you think how expensive batteries can be, this remote will save you a small fortune over time too. The best bit is that this green gadget is the same price as any other universal remote control, except this one doesn’t need batteries and it is fully supported by 1000 Green Steps!
Happy Green Living!
No, 1000 Green Steps here was not talking about THOSE free gifts you could have won on that department store nearby. 1000 Green Steps was talking about finding a gift for your loved ones which could save you more money and save our planet earth, too.
Show Us What You Have!
Now, refresh your memory and check again if there is anything you have that you don’t need anymore. We can RECYCLE it together, right? Check 1000 green Steps suggestion on recycling a T-shirt.
Be Good!
In case you are not that type of artistic guy, and if you really have given up the idea of trying to remake something that is actually better, try to DONATE YOUR STUFF so that other people could REUSE it.

- Green Idol: Alanis Morissette
Just like other idols who have taken green steps in their life, Alanis Morissette also has started her own green steps since 2003. Back then she was narrating the program presenting growing evidence of climate change called Global Warming: The Signs and the Science. The following year she signed up for another film, The Great Warming, which she narrated with Keanu Reeves.
In 2003, this solar powered house owner was awarded The EMA Missions in Music Award for acts such as speaking out against drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and encouraging fans to learn about and become more involved in political issues.
As well as urging fans to educate themselves on the Bush administration’s Energy Plan, Morissette posts information on her website about her own aid donations through CHF International and invites fans to contribute.

- Leaders Act! Save Climate!
Quoted from Greenpeace:
“On the eve of the G8 summit in Italy – our activists have been beaming a message on the Kremlin and floating a life-sized iceberg past the Eiffel tower to call for urgent action from world leaders to save the climate.â€
1000 Green Steps considered this as a call for our leaders, and might as well for you (if you are a leader), to start a change for our environment by doing both small and big green steps. In the picture we can see the activists used a laser projector to create a call to action visible from President Obama’s hotel: “Leaders Act! Save Climate!”
Happy Green Living!

- Erin Brockovich
After 1000 Green Steps brought you fun through environment songs and idols, now it’s time for us to watch those movies about our environment. No! I’m not asking you to watch a boring documentary film about how polluted our earth is, but this is more like a true story film showing us what to do to fight mean people around us
“Erin Brockovich†is a 2000 drama film which dramatizes the story of Erin Brockovich’s first fight against the American West Coast energy giant Pacific Gas and Electric Company known as PG&E. The film was directed by Steven Soderbergh and featured actress Julia Roberts in the lead role for which she subsequently won the Academy Award for Best Actress. It is based on a true story and the real Erin Brockovich has a cameo appearance as a waitress named Julia.

- Queen of Green: Cameron Diaz
I’m sure you have seen Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and even Lisa Simpson in 1000 Green Steps. However, today 1000 Green Steps is going to discuss about Cameron Diaz, who might not being exposed too much about her green steps.
Diaz started her green steps when she joined Gore to announce the initiative Save Our Selves (SOS) – The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis, kicking off with a 24-hour summer concert series known as Live Earth, taking place July 7th, 2007 across seven continents. Then, in a feature on ABC News, Diaz spoke about the need for people to invest in green living and not just hop on board because it happens to be popular right now. The one-time vegetarian has even been quoted as saying she’d like to try out simple country existence for a year, living off the land by growing her own food and milking cows, saying she thrives on being outdoors. As a member of the Environmental Media Association, she has filmed public service announcements, with fellow greenie Gwyneth Paltrow, about the importance of conserving energy. The group’s Gen E (Generation Environment) program brings Hollywood and environmental concerns together, just like Diaz has in her own life.
