The simplest way but might happen to be the hardest one if you didn’t get use to it. Try it and you’ll regret why you didn’t start it earlier.

Qeen of Green: Cameron Diaz
Queen of Green: Cameron Diaz

I’m sure you have seen Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and even Lisa Simpson in 1000 Green Steps. However, today 1000 Green Steps is going to discuss about Cameron Diaz, who might not being exposed too much about her green steps.

Diaz started her green steps when she joined Gore to announce the initiative Save Our Selves (SOS) – The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis, kicking off with a 24-hour summer concert series known as Live Earth, taking place July 7th, 2007 across seven continents. Then, in a feature on ABC News, Diaz spoke about the need for people to invest in green living and not just hop on board because it happens to be popular right now. The one-time vegetarian has even been quoted as saying she’d like to try out simple country existence for a year, living off the land by growing her own food and milking cows, saying she thrives on being outdoors. As a member of the Environmental Media Association, she has filmed public service announcements, with fellow greenie Gwyneth Paltrow, about the importance of conserving energy. The group’s Gen E (Generation Environment) program brings Hollywood and environmental concerns together, just like Diaz has in her own life.

Step 87: Green Steps through Lead Detector

Lead Test Kit
Lead Test Kit

More than 80 percent of homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, does yours? 1000 Green Steps really think that you might want to know about lead’s effect on human body. 1000 Green Steps find out that Lead poisoning is a top environmental health hazard for young children, affecting as many as 1.7 million children age five and under, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data. Adults exposed to high levels of lead are also at risk. More than 80 percent of homes built before 1978 contain lead paint. Lead appears in lots of other places, too.

To protect your children from those risks, testing for lead in plates, glasses, ceramics, cups, toys, soil, furniture and pipes is easy and accurate. LeadCheck® offers a simple and reliable method to test for lead and get results instantly. Because this test is economical, very simple to conduct, and reliable as a positive test for lead, it provides a valuable screening tool to determine if you may have a lead hazard in your home. LeadCheck® is also valuable to contractors who do not want to wait for professional lead testing every time they work on a building that was built prior to 1978. It provides an inexpensive and fast way to know – if you cut, scrape or renovate, that you may be contaminating the building and exposing your workers to hazardous lead.

Just Like Our Green Idol: Brad Pitt

After having Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie, and Lisa Simpson now we are having Brad Pitt as our Green Idol. Brad was twice nominated as ‘The Hottest Man Alive’ by People magazine. However, like many people say it’s the inside that counts. He proved to the world that he also has been hot on the trail of the emerging green-building movement, narrating a sustainable design TV series, and supporting Ed Norton’s Solar Neighbors Program.

He also has been leading an eco cause called Global Green USA’s Holy Cross Project, which is made to push the sustainable redevelopment of New Orleans after the Katrina.

That project will provide affordable-housing project, which will include five single-family homes, an 18-unit apartment building and a community centre. “What happened two years ago was a man-made disaster,” says Brad, “and this building offers a man-made solution.”

1000 Green Steps believe that with more people going green through their green steps, we will be able to create a better living place on Earth

Step 73: Green Steps in Green House

The Eco House
The Eco House

After having an ecotourism, purchasing eco-friendly gadgets by buying cell phone with eco-brands, this option sound a lot more interesting for you. 1000 green Steps had handpicked some beautiful design and came up with this stunning house. The Eco House is located in Spain, which has a roof line which sits wing-like above the building line. The roof form and distance from the building is key, it holds the solar panels at the correct angle to maximize effectiveness whilst also hiding them from view. A rainwater reclamation system will be installed and a photovoltaic system will supply the electricity to run a radiant heating system within the floor. Sounds like luxury, doesn’t it? It absolutely does to 1000 Green Steps.

Trashion
Trashion

No, 1000 Green Steps didn’t do typos. Trashion is a fashionable way to reuse trashes as some fascinating fashion items. Just like 1000 Green Steps, at the first time you might feel hesitate to even have a look at that. However, try to believe that these kinds of fashion really does exist and they’re actually hip!

Visit Haute Trash to browse through their amazing ideas of trashion items and get awed the moment you enter their home page. Furthermore, believe it or not they actually made up awards for trashion. Windfall ecology festival June 2007: Trash Fashion & Design Awards combines and celebrates the elements of fashion design with the creative use of garbage.
