The approach to sink the risk of getting pancreatic cancer could be done only by dropping sugar consumption to its normal intake dosage. “A typical serving of soda is 20 ounces and contains 65 grams of sugar. By comparison, a typical serving of orange juice is eight ounces and contains 21 grams of sugar,” the source said.

After getting to know that smoking is exceedingly bad for your healthiness, you get to know that inhaling someone else’s smoke is furthermore dreadful for your health. Now after getting to know both of them, you have to know that the ‘third-hand smoke’, which denotes the tobacco residue clinging to surfaces, is even more hazardous for you.

A study about the issue was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), and confirmed that the explanation behind the threat was actually coming to pass while the cigarette was burning. When it burns, nicotine is unconfined in the form of a vapor that accumulates and concentrates on indoor facades such as walls, carpeting, drapes and furniture, where it can linger for months. “Our study shows that when this residual nicotine reacts with ambient nitrous acid it forms carcinogenic tobacco-specific nitrosamines, or TSNAs,” said Hugo Destaillats, an analogous instigator of the study.

The night when final decision of Copenhagen Climate Talks was being discussed, hundreds of protesters are accusing world leaders for not reconciling an adequate climate agreement and letting them wait outside in the frosty cold. Now, a month after the day, they are seemed to be facing a whole new problem which is bigger and more important to many: how the outcome at Copenhagen changed the U.S. climate movement.

Steve Cochran, Environmental Defense Fund’s national climate campaign director also showed a disappointment. “No serious environmental problem, no serious social problem was ever fully solved in one go,” said Doniger. “In order to be effective you have to stick with it. You have to be willing to live with disappointment, and come back at it, rather than getting discouraged.”

As we all know, on Wednesday (January 27), a blown-up version of iPhone was released. Weighing 1.5 pounds, just 0.5 inch thick, and 11 inches tall, the iPad makes it possible to fool around with songs, watch movies, read books, and run all the supplementary tens of thousands of applications obtainable in the Apple’s depots. The question: How green is it?

Being aware of the curious public it faces, Apple soon declared the ‘green’ feature iPad has to offer. They admit that this awaited gadget follows Apple Environmental Policies, which means no malicious chemical like arsenic, mercury, nor PVC.

Some bloggers at Engadget claims Apple’s latest iPad was the Next Green Thing by its ‘highly recyclable’ feature and if you are not interested in awards at least get familiar with its great green attributes.

After hiding from public spotlight for about eight years, Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden finally came out on Friday (January 29) to air his reprimands in an audio tape broadcasted by Al-Jazeera television. “All industrial nations, mainly the big ones, are responsible for the crisis of global warming,” bin Laden said in the message credited to him by the pan-Arab news channel found in Doha.

Furthermore, he criticized sharply on the U.S. government under former President George W. Bush for not agreeing the Kyoto protocol on fighting climate alteration. “Bush the son, and the Congress before him, rejected this agreement, only to satisfy the big companies,” he said. “This is a message to the whole world about those who are causing climate change, whether deliberately or not, and what we should do about that, discussing climate change is not an intellectual luxury, but a reality.”

He also was claiming U.S. dollar global usage as a proof of U.S. ‘slavery’ towards international population so public should stop using it as a global means of economic transaction.

Not long ago we heard sharp news which accused swine flu as a fake pandemic, and was being exaggerated to raise the profit of medicine corporations. In response to the matter, The World Health Organization claimed that the commentators are ‘irresponsible’. “The world is going through a real pandemic. The description of it as a fake is wrong and irresponsible,” the WHO said in a sturdily worded account Monday (January 25).

According to WHO statistics, by January 17, there have been at least 14, 142 cases of deaths from swine flu which spreads on more than 209 countries across the globe. In case the number of deaths was ‘not enough’ to be considered as a pandemic, WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl explained further, that moderately low figure of confirmed deaths from swine flu didn’t denote the virus wasn’t a pandemic. “A pandemic has nothing to do with severity or number of deaths,” he informed The Associated Press. “A pandemic literally is a global spread of a disease.”

Gregory also said that WHO has always been very measured and sober in what they said, and they always described the virus as causing overwhelmingly mild disease. Even so, he agreed that WHO can’t control how public react to the information.

In the US, out of public expectation, there are 1 in 10 children aged seven to eight years old takes notice of voices that aren’t really there. After doing further research, most children who hear voices doesn’t seem to mind the voices since they don’t find those voices disconcerting their way of thinking. “These voices in general have a limited impact in daily life,” Agna A. Bartels-Velthuis of University Medical Center Groningen in The Netherlands wrote in an email to Reuters Health.

Agna also said that parents whose children are hearing voices, should not be exaggeratedly worried because most of the time the voices will gradually disappear. “In most cases the voices will just disappear. I would advise them to reassure their child and to watch him or her closely.” Up to 16% of psychologically healthy kids and adolescence may hear voices, although hearing voices might be an indication of schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders.

Almost earthed for more than 2,000 years, an ancient temple built for Egyptian cat goddess, Bastet, was recently discovered by a group of Egyptian archeologists. The news was broken by the Supreme Council of Antiquities on Tuesday (January 19). The Ptolemaic-era temple was first found in the form of ruins in the heart of Mediterranean port city of Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great in the 4th century B.C. According to their statement, the temple was thought to be owned by Queen Berenice, wife of King Ptolemy III who ruled Egypt in the 3rd century B.C. Mohammed Abdel-Maqsood, the Egyptian archaeologist who escorted the excavation squad, said the unearthing may be the first mark out of the long-sought site of Alexandria’s royal quarter.

Last week, Haitians are tormenting with an extremely devastating earthquake, which have caused them loss of shelters, food scarcities, and worsened psychological condition. As if those are not bad enough, now a chance of deadly dehydration are quite threatening millions quake victims, especially in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. With the city’s waterworks debilitated, and the aid providing attempt only now getting adequately keyed up, ramping up water delivery could mean the dissimilarity between assuaging the desolation and intensifying it.

However, authoritative countries have been trying to develop their method of delivering water aid to those distressed countries. As a result, early this week the Vinson will be given up to 100,000 special 2- and 5-gallon water “bladders,” collapsible containers that will make transferring such massive volumes of water more competent. If the Vinson could actually shift all 200,000 of its overloaded gallons to Haitian allotment points each day, it could as much as twice over the quantity of water aid, which relief agencies and military helicopter pilots alike say is being used up quicker than they can transport it. That in turn would allow contributor governments and organizations to turn more of their hard work in the direction of supplementing other vital supplies like food, medical supplies and, later on, more continuing aid like building resources.

Billionaire George Soros, founder of $25 billion hedge-fund firm Soros Fund Management LLC, said on Friday (January 15) that devoid of a restriction on carbon dioxide emissions that sets a penalty on toxic waste, low-carbon investments will not be advantageous to anyone. “If you had the legislation in the United States you would have a market” for carbon emissions and for compensating credits granted to clean-energy projects in the emerging world, Soros said at the Investor Summit on Climate Risk at the United Nations. “Right now you don’t even have that. The United States is the laggard.”

Soros alone, in his 79 claimed that he is going to invest his $1 billion for clean-energy project of technology. As if that is not full-size enough, he also plans to bequeath $100 million to an ecological guiding principle group to give support to the new-fangled system. “We didn’t look very good in Copenhagen not having passed any kind of bill,” Soros said.
