Siranosian http://1000greensteps.org/?p=452 The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) recently awarded the South Jersey Technology Park (SJTP) at Rowan University its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating for green steps they took.

LEED certification of the SJTP in Glassboro, New Jersey was based on the facility’s numerous environmentally-friendly design and construction features, including:

  • innovation in design
  • use of recycled materials
  • innovative waste management
  • pollution prevention
  • energy systems

“The South Jersey Technology Park’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,” says Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair of USGBC in a press release. “The urgency of USGBC’s mission has challenged the industry to move faster and reach further than ever before, and the Tech Park serves as a prime example (of) just how much we can accomplish.”
