Step 45: How To Use Water Efficiently

Do you know by pre-rinsing dishes you’ve wasted about 20 gallons of water with (based on research) without any significant benefit? So, starting from now, avoid pre-rinsing dishes and look for an eco-friendly washing machine such as Gota which steams up the dishes in the pre-wash cycle and recycles the cooled down residual H2O for the later-on cycles. You can also do the washing chores by yourself (this will definitely save more energy and money!).

Do a five-minute shower (10-25 gallons of water) instead of having a bath and a full bathtub (70 gallons of water). For a better try you can put an alarm clock inside your bathroom to make sure you don’t take it too long. You can also use eco-friendly shower heads as listed on Pristine Planet.

Do you turn off your faucet when you brush your teeth? Or do you keep it on when you do not really need it? Please only use faucet when you NEED it and don’t forget to turn it off. Look for any leakages on those faucets in your house and repair it soon. Don’t you know that leaky faucets can waste thousands of gallons of water each year? Use eco-friendly faucet such as Guru Tap.

Well, that I hope will be an excellent beginning for you to reduce your water spending (and money spending on water-bills).

Happy Green Living!
